Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown

¯ Crash — 8:24 a.m. — Feb. 10 — Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown troopers are investigating a one vehicle crash that occurred on William Penn Highway, Fermanagh Township, when a Ford Escort driven by Katlyn Long, 54, of Lewistown, traveled off the road.

For unknown reasons Long lost control of her vehicle and traveled across a turning lane into the westbound lane of travel, off the road and hit a home, then hit a small shrub plant before coming to a stop on an embankment.

Long sustained major injuries and was transported by Medevac to Geisinger-Danville Hospital.

¯ Disorderly conduct — 8:48 p.m. — March 13 — A report of an emergency 911 line being abused was reported to Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown at a residence along Honaman House Drive, Thompsontown.

During an investigation troopers determined that Annie Ingle, 61, of Thompsontown, had called 911 and required ambulance transport for non-emergency matters.

Ingle was cited for disorderly conduct through Magisterial District Judge Barbara M. Lyter’s office.

¯ Crash — 11:22 a.m. — March 14 — The crash occurred as Kevin Bermudez-Vasquez, 21, of McAlisterville, lost control of his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, while traveling along state Route 35 in Fermanagh Township.

The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and hit a utility pole. No alcohol is suspected to be a cause of the crash.

¯ Crash — 6:20 p.m. — March 15 — Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown are investigating a crash, which occurred when a 2003 Ford F150 traveled off state Route 35 near Orchard Road, Fermanagh Township.

The vehicle, driven by Jerry O’Connell, 70, of Port Royal, traveled off the road due to the icy road conditions and hit a utility pole.

¯ Crash — 2:45 p.m. — March 16 — The crash occurred as a 2013 Chrysler 200, driven by Carissa Colpetzer, 32, of Honey Grove, traveled off state Route 75 near Spruce Hill Road, Spruce Hill Township.

Colpetzer and his vehicle hit a utility pole before hitting a snow bank of the left side of the road.

¯ Crash — 12:28 a.m. — March 17 — This single vehicle crash occurred on state Route 333 near Stouffer Road, Turbett Township, when Cheyenne Kauffman, 18, of Port Royal, failed to maintain control of her 2002 Jeep Liberty, and left the road hitting a culvert ditch.

Kauffman sustained a suspected minor injury and was wearing her seat belt at the time.

¯ Possession with intent to deliver — 11:45 a.m. — March 17 — A search warrant was executed at the home of Gabriel Knorr, 31, at 23 Marble St., Lewistown, which resulted in the seizure of 39 bags of heroin, more than $6,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Knorr was charged with possession with intent to deliver and other related charges and placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.

¯ Harassment — 6:35 p.m. — March 17 — Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown troopers responded to a residence along Barton Hollow Road, Lack Township, in response to a report of a fight.

Upon arrival to the home, police discovered that a 71-year-old male from East Waterford and a 26-year-old female had started a verbal argument, which then turned into a fight.

Both were cited for the summary charge of harassment through Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline Leister’s office.

¯ Crash — 8:55 a.m. — March 18 — A crash occurred as a 2007 Ford Focus, driven by Douglas Martin, 23, of Milton, traveled on the north side of state Route 104 near Klinger Hollow Road, Susquehanna Township.

He traveled off the right side of the road and hit a mail box and then, a large boulder near the road. The vehicle came to a final stop in the driveway of the owner of the mailbox.

¯ Public drunkenness — March 19 — Ruby Kay Hesser, 54, of Lewistown, was found to be a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a DUI investigation on Wilt Road, Decatur Township.

Hesser got out of the vehicle, stumbled onto the road where cars were passing. Troopers told her to get back into the vehicle multiple times, but Hesser replied “No, I’m going to jail with my sister.” She was arrested for public drunkenness.

Pennsylvania State Police Newport

¯ DUI — 7:24 p.m. — March 4 — Pennsylvania State Police Newport troopers conducted a traffic stop along U.S. Highway 22/322 in Reed Township, and determined a 37-year-old Lewistown woman, was under the influence of alcohol. Charges are pending.

¯ Crash — 6:41 p.m. — March 15 — The crash occurred as Jed Varner, 30, of Thompsontown, was traveling west on U.S. Highway 22 in Howe Township, when he lost control of his Jeep Cherokee and left the right side of the road.

The vehicle hit a ditch and then overturned, coming to a final stop on the its roof.

Varner was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Pennsylvania State Police Huntingdon

¯ Theft from a motor vehicle — 2:53 a.m. — Feb. 25 — The incident occurred as a female from Mount Union reported items were stolen from her car located in the borough. The incident remains under investigation.

¯ Simple assault — 7:35 a.m. — March 1 — A fight occurred between a 14-year-old female and a 13-year-old female when the older girl punched the younger one in the face. The 14-year-old was charged with simple assault and harassment.
