Two guests to appear in ballet in Mifflintown

MIFFLINTOWN — Local singer and entrepreneur Delphine Kirkland is one of two special guests for the winter ballet of the Margaret McCann School of Dance on Saturday.

Kirkland will narrate the story of “A Little Princess” while the dancers perform. “Ballet rarely uses a voice over,” Director Margaret McCann said, “but we have done this for several years. Our audience loves the insight to the story being told.”

A second guest artist is local actor Michael Fitzgerald, who will portray Captain Crewe. Fitzgerald is making a return performance. Last winter he played the part of the Emperor in the school’s “The Nightingale” ballet. He is a former MMSD dancer.

“A Little Princess” ballet is based on the classic book by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This annual holiday ballet is suitable for all ages.  It will be presented at 7 p.m. at Juniata High School.  Tickets are $8.50 and may be reserved by calling 436-9806. Tickets will also

be available at the door.
