¯ Traffic violation/drug possession — 2:02 p.m. — Nov. 22 — Police report Timothy Alant Kauffman Jr., 25, of Lewistown, was stopped for a traffic violation in the area of Freedom Avenue and Mifflin County Commons. He was found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

¯ Two-vehicle crash– 2:20 p.m. — Nov. 30 — Police investigated a vehicle crash that took place along state Route 522, at its intersection with Croghan Pike in Wayne Township, Mifflin County. The incident involved two vehicles: a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse, operated by Ruth A. Hockenberry, 58, of Mapleton, and one passenger, Michelle D. Johnson, 37, of Blairs Mills; and a 2006 Ford Focus, operated by Curtis C. Weston, 23, of Lewistown. No injuries were reported.

¯ Terroristic threat — 11:32 p.m. — Dec. 2 — Police were alerted to a disturbance at 28 Shetter Drive, Susquehanna Township, Juniata County. During investigation, it was determined that a terroristic threat incident had occurred between a 32-year-old male, of Richfield, and a 31-year-old female, of Liverpool. The male was taken into custody before being arraigned at District Court 41-3-01.

¯ Two-vehicle crash — 3:41 p.m. — Dec. 5 — According to police, a two-vehicle collision occurred as a silver 2008 Kia Sorento, operated by Katie I. Smith, 21, of McVeytown, was traveling north on US Highway 322 South, in the area of Yetter’s Restaurant in Oliver Township, Mifflin County. A brown 2015 Ford F150, operated by Stanley J. Reck, 60, of Mount Union, was stopped in traffic heading north on the same roadway. Smith’s vehicle struck Reck’s truck from behind, then continued moving a short distance before coming to a rest and catching fire. Reck’s vehicle was pushed into a guard rail after being struck. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage during the crash and were towed from the scene. Smith sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. Her passenger, an unnamed 13-year-old also from McVeytown, was not injured. Reck also was uninjured, police said. Smith was cited for following too closely. McVeytown Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.

¯ Harassment — 9 a.m.-5:35 p.m. — Dec. 6 — Police investigated a harassment incident at 12393 William Penn Highway, Delaware Township, Juniata County. Donald Smith, 39, of Shermansdale,

reported he had received numerous messages from his ex-wife, Emily Renee Smith, 39, of Mifflintown. The victim had a no contact order served to the suspect detailing that the only contact to be had was if regarding their son. Police said the suspect did not obey. A citation was filed through District Court 41-3-01.

¯ One-vehicle crash — 11:33 a.m. — Dec. 6 — The crash occurred as a 1999 Chevrolet 1500, operated by Julian J. Bailer, 18, of Port Royal, was traveling south on state Route 35 South, just west of Swartz Hollow Lane in Beale Township, Juniata County. For unknown reasons, the truck veered off the roadway and hit a culvert, then rolled over the driver’s side and landed on its roof against the north embankment. Bailer was not wearing a seatbelt and was injured. He was cited in the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Police were assisted on scene by Beale Township Fire Department and EMS.

¯ Two-vehicle crash — 5:43 a.m. — Dec. 6 — A two-vehicle crash occurred as a 1999 Mazda, driven by Tyler D. Herbster, 20, of Beavertown, was making a left hand turn from North Sassafrass Road onto state Route 522, in Beavertown Borough. Dennis E. Goss, 60, of Middleburg, was driving a 2006 Dodge Dakota west on state Route 522. According to police, Herbster drove into the intersection without yielding to traffic, causing both vehicles to collide. Herbster faces charges for turning without using required signals. Both drivers were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported.
