¯Photo shoot — 4-7 p.m. on weeknights, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 4-17, the former Fastenal Building beside Vince’s Pizza, Electric Avenue, Lewistown. For $25, attendees will receive five digital photos and have the option of seven different backgrounds. Pet photos will be from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Dec. 11. Proceeds benefit High Intensity (14U) Softball. Space is limited and will be honored on a first-come, first-serve basis. To reserve a spot, call 513-5777.

¯Juniata County Food Pantry distribution — 10-11 a.m., Dec. 17, McCoysville Presbyterian Church, located in McCoysville between Routes 35 and 75 South. Christmas meal groceries will also be distributed at this time. Appointments are required. Thursday, Dec. 8

¯Bag day — 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Big Valley Thrift & Gift Shop, 35 Walnut St., Belleville. Cost: $6 per bag, which are supplied. Shoes and clothing only. All sales final. Proceeds benefit Mennonite Central Committee.

¯West Snyder High School Class of 1968 breakfast — 9:30 a.m., Vince’s Pizza and Family Restaurant, Beaver Springs. Members and guests are welcome.

¯Kish High School Class of 1966 ladies lunch — 11 a.m., Burnham OIP.

¯Aerobics — 6-7 p.m., Hope Center, Bethel AME Church, Lewistown. Cost is $2 if not a member of the church.

¯Music — 6-8:30 p.m., Lewistown Senior Center. Music provided by Bluegrass Country Express. Bring a snack to share.

¯Polar Bear Express — 6:30-9 p.m., Rockhill Furnace, 430 Meadow St., Rockhill Furnace, just off U.S. 522 on Route 994 across from the old East Broad Top Railroad. Cost: $8, adults; $5, children. Rain, snow or shine. Take a ride on an enclosed and heated, restored antique trolley. See lighted holiday displays and sing carols along the way. Free hot chocolate and cookies by the bonfire at the pavilion. For more information, call (814) 447-9576.

¯Community Christmas play — 7 p.m., McVeytown United Methodist Parish, Queen Street, McVeytown. Will be hosting the play “Behind the Pageant.” Admission is a canned good donation. Check the McVeytown United Methodist Church Facebook page for more details.

Saturday, Dec. 10

¯Fly-in, drive-in, walk-in breakfast — 8-10:30 a.m., Mifflin County Airport. Sponsored by Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 518.

¯Annual Christmas bazaar — 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin. Various crafts, food and baked goods will be sold. There will be a variety of local vendors. All money raised will support the Resident Activity Fund. For more information, call 436-8921.

¯Holiday bazaar — 8 a.m.-2 p.m., East Waterford Fire Company, Route 75, East Waterford. There will be a variety of handmade crafts, raffle prizes and more sold by vendors including Green with Envy, Thirty-One and DoTerra. Santa will arrive at noon. All proceeds will be used to hold holiday events and parties for the children of East Waterford and surrounding communities.

¯Community Clothes Closet — 9 a.m. to noon, Big Valley Alliance Church, 50 S. Kish St., Belleville. Gently-used clothing and shoes to give away to people in need, baby diapers and baby wipes also available. Any questions, call 483-6951.

¯Santa’s celebration and indoor carnival — 9 a.m.-2 p.m., West Snyder Elementary School, 645 Snyder Ave., Beaver Springs. Features a variety of activities. Parents welcome to take photos of their children with Santa. Make holiday crafts, ornaments, Christmas cards, play games and more. Admission: $5 for children ages 4 and older. ¯8th annual Christmas gift show — 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuscarora Junior High School. Photos with Santa, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Door prizes and concession stand. Vote for funniest Christmas picture. A variety of vendors will be attending. Bring non-perishable food items, personal care items, pet food and pet supplies to benefit Juniata County Food Pantry, Mifflin/Juniata Pet Pantry and Holler Adoption.

¯Brick Saturday — 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Mifflin County Library and Kish Branch Library, Belleville. Kids of all ages can come and play with Legos provided by the library.

¯Mifflin County Democratic Women’s Club meeting — 10 a.m., downstairs conference room, Penn State Learning Center, Lewistown. New members are welcome. For more information, contact Cindy Kennedy at 935-7462.

¯Christmas bazaar — 10 a.m.-2 p.m., St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Main Street, Milroy. Soups: chicken noodle, vegetable beef, ham and bean. Cost: $4.50 per quart. There will also be baked goods, Christmas cookies, crafts and gifts for sale. Lunch will be served.

¯Holiday and craft show — 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Elks Lodge No. 663, 229 W. Third St., Lewistown. A Chinese auction is also planned.

¯“Sounds of the Seasons” concert — 3 p.m., Mifflin County High School Auditorium. Music by MCHS’ “Cantare”: MCHS Brass Choir, Sisters of Song and Lewistown Community Band.

¯Nativity displays — 4-6 p.m., Church Hill United Methodist Church, 119 Woodland Circle, Reedsville. Will be displayed in the outdoor pavilion. Refreshments will be served.

¯Lewistown High School Class of 1957 annual Christmas party — 5 p.m., St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Main Street, Lewistown. Bring a covered dish to share with those attending.

¯Santa Claus visit — 5:30-7 p.m., Theatre-In-The-Park, home of the Stone Arch Players, located in Kish Park, Burnham. Kids and their parents can stop and visit with Santa. There will also be free gifts for the kids, as well as light refreshments.

¯“Christmas in the Barn” — free, 6:30 p.m., behind the Millerstown Borough office complex on North High Street in Millerstown Borough. A reenactment of the birth of Christ. Jesus’s birth will be told through a narrated skit. Live animals will also be featured. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served before and after the program. Barn isn’t heated, warm clothes are recommended. Sponsored by members of the Millerstown United Methodist Charge.

¯Christmas caroling — 4 p.m., Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 E. Logan St., Reedsville. Caroling in the neighborhood followed by hot cocoa and cookies.

¯Candle lighting — 6:30 p.m., candles lit at 7 p.m.,  in the lower level of Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, 611 S. Main St., Lewistown. Held to honor memories of children, regardless of age, who have died. Will feature candle lighting, special music, poems and reading of children’s names.
