Marino to aid with Trump transition
WASHINGTON — Rep. Tom Marino, R-Williamsport, will join President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team executive committee, Ryan Barton, a congressional aide for Marino, confirmed Friday in an email to The Sentinel.
“This means that (Marino) will be a part of making recommendations to President-elect Trump on hiring our country’s smartest and brightest to serve in key positions within the administration,” Barton said in the email. “It also further means that he will be a part of a team that helps advance President-elect Trump’s agenda of securing our borders, investing in infrastructure, rebuilding our economy and repealing Obamacare.”
Marino represents Pennsylvania’s 10th District in Congress, which includes Mifflin, Juniata and Snyder counties as well as a portion of Perry County. He was chosen to serve his fourth term in Tuesday’s election.
Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence will take office at noon on Jan. 20.
