Man charged after bathroom incidents

Fortson resists arrest, placed in correctional facility on $100K bail

LEWISTOWN — A McClure man has been charged with various offenses following two incidents Thursday, according to a news release from the Lewistown Borough Police Department.

At 11:28 a.m. Lewistown Borough Police responded to the Bon Ton for a complaint of a male in the women’s bathroom looking over the stalls. Prior to their arrival, the male ran from the bathroom and the store.

The victim provided police with a description and police arranged a photo line-up to show to her. After looking at the photos, Terry Lee Fortson, 45, of McClure, was identified as

the male suspect.

According to the release, about one hour later, police received another complaint that Fortson was still in the building, which was followed by a call that Fortson may have been in the former Danks building.

Police searched the building and found him in a storage closet in the basement. Fortson refused orders from police to place his hands behind his back and struck an officer in the face with a closed fist, according to the release.

Fortson was pepper sprayed but still resisted officers, causing him to be tased. He was then able to be placed in handcuffs.

Fortson was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Mifflin County Correctional

Facility on $100,000 bail.
