¯2nd Annual Take A Veteran to brunch — 10:15 a.m. or noon, Nov. 17, Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology, Encore Room. The community service event involving the culinary arts students and student organization leaders is intended to reach out to local veterans by encouraging family members, friends and the community to be a sponsor. No more than two people can accompany the veteran to the buffet. Cost is $12 per reservation for two people and can be reserved by calling 248-3933, extension 5808.

¯“Death of a Doornail” show — Two nights: 7 p.m., Nov. 18, 6:30 p.m., Nov. 19, Belleville Mennonite High School. Mystery Dessert will be served with the show Nov. 18. Cost: $9, adults; $7, students. ¯Midd-West FFA fruit sale — pickup from 3:30-7:30 p.m., Dec. 12, Midd-West High School Ag Shop. Orders may be placed with any of the chapter’s 350 Midd-West FFA members until Nov. 18.
