Artists sought for exhibit inspired by written text
NEWPORT –The Perry County Council of the Arts is seeking local artists from the region who are interested in displaying artwork in its upcoming “Off the Page” exhibition at PCCA Gallery, One S. Second Street, Newport.
This group exhibition will open with an artists’ reception from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 10, and will be on display through March 4.
Each visual art entry should be inspired by text from a book (a fairy tale, the Bible, a novel, poem, speech, etc.).
Artistsare asked to RSVP their intent to participate by Jan. 9, 2017.
Work must be created by the submitting artist and must be original in both concept and execution.
“Off the Page” is open to entries of artwork by members and non-members of Perry County Council of the Arts. If the artist is not a member of the arts council, he or she may sign up for a yearly membership or pay a $10 per entry participation fee. PCCA Gallery is located at One S. Second Street on Newport’s square, and is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.Thursday and Friday; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
