¯Roast turkey dinner — 4-7 p.m., Nov. 3, First United Methodist Church. Cost: Adults, $8; children ages 6-11, $3.50; children ages 5 and younger eat free. Tickets are available at the church office from 8 a.m. to noon, or by calling 248-4618 to reserve them. The dinner is advanced tickets only.

¯Longaberger/Vera Bradley bingo — doors open at 5:30 p.m., bingo at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 4, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Belleville. Tickets can be purchased in advance. Cost: advance tickets, $20; at-the-door tickets, $25. To reserve tickets, call 935-2959.

¯Sandy’s Scents holiday craft bingo — doors open at 11:30 a.m., starts at 1 p.m., Nov. 6, McClure American Legion Post 942. Cost: $20, at the door; $15, advance tickets. There will also be raffle tables, 50/50 and door prizes. Bring book donations; with every book, receive a ticket for special raffle prize. Advance tickets must be purchased by Nov. 5. ¯Homemade ham pot pie sale — pick-up between noon and 6 p.m., Nov. 16, Trinity United Methodist Church, 428 S. Main St., Lewistown. Take-outs only, containers provided. Cost: $7 per quart. Last day to order is Nov. 9. To order, call 248-2340, 242-1195, or 248-4169.

¯Marianna’s hoagie sale — pick up after 4 p.m., Nov. 17, Spring Run Church of the Brethren. Cost: $7.50 per hoagie. To order, call Don Crosson at 899-7344 by Nov. 6. Arrangements may be made for delivery when orders are placed.

¯Senior citizens holiday luncheon — free, 12:30 p.m., Nov. 17, Juniata High School cafeteria, 3931 William Penn Highway, Mifflintown. There will be musical entertainment and artwork on display, student led tours of the school and the opportunity to meet school district faculty, staff and administrators, as well as board members. ¯Sausage sale — 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Nov. 12, the fire station on West Specht Street, McClure. Fresh pork sausage will be available in regular, hot, loose and rope sausage options. Advance orders on sale. Saturday, Oct. 29

¯All-you-can-eat breakfast — 7-10 a.m., Richfield United Church of Christ. Meal includes: sausage gravy, bacon, ham, home fries, pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs and biscuits.

¯Free community breakfast — 8:30-10 a.m., Trinity United Methodist Church, 428 S. Main St., Lewistown. Guests are asked to use the church’s rear entrance. Lewistown Home Health and Hospice will be available to give flu shots, bring insurance cards.

¯Free children’s clothing bank — 9 a.m.-noon, Mount Union Presbyterian Church, the corner of Shirley and Division streets. Enter through the door on the corner opposite the Subway/Snap Fitness facility. For children up to 12 years old. An adult must bring the child/children to the church basement to select up to four outfits per child, depending on supply. Open to those in need throughout the community.

¯Fall fundraiser — 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Mexico Presbyterian Church, William Penn Highway at Hack’s parking lot, midway between Rutter’s and the Village of Mexico. There will be cheesesteak, hot sausage sandwiches, drinks and a bake sale. Soups: chicken corn and ham and bean, sold by the quart and bowl. For more info, call 436-2301.

¯Brick Saturday — 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Mifflin County Library, Lewistown, and Kish Branch Library, Belleville. Kids of all ages can come and play with Legos provided by the library.

¯Holiday craft bazaar and soup sale — 10 a.m.-2 pm., Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, located along state Route Route 35 next to the fire hall in McAlisterville.

¯Pampering day — 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 2633 Cuba Mills Road, Mifflintown. For women caring for a family member with any type of disability; lunch and a day of pampering. To reserve a place, please call 436-8085 and leave a message. There is no charge for the day.

¯Homemade chicken pie dinner — 3 p.m. until sold out, McVeytown Firehouse along U.S. 22/522. Eat-in or take-out options available. Cost: $6 per meal. Hot dogs, sloppy joes, French fries, baked goods and beverages will also be sold. For take-out dinner, call the fire house at 899-7311.

¯Bingo — doors and kitchen open at 4:30 p.m., bingo at 6 p.m., Lack-Tuscarora EMS. All proceeds go to Lack-Tuscarora EMS.

¯McVeytown Lions Halloween parade — registration starts at 5 p.m., parade starts at 6 p.m. Parade goes around town twice and passes the judges’ stand two times on the square. All prize money will be awarded at the McVeytown Firehouse after the parade is over. If needed, the rain date will be at the same time on Monday, Oct. 31.

¯Penny sings Patsy — 7-9 p.m., doors open at 6 p.m., VFW, Lewistown. Cost: $10 per ticket. Costumes optional, snacks provided. For more information, call the club at 248-3621, or call 250-9776, or 248-7514.

Sunday, Oct. 30

¯Trunk or Treat — 6-8 p.m., Evangel Baptist Church, 375 W. Fifth St., Lewistown. Members will be handing out candy in the safety of the church’s monitored parking lot. There will be free games, music and food.

Monday, Oct. 31

¯Coffee time — 8:30-11 a.m., McVeytown United Methodist Church, the tan church on Queen Street. Check McVeytown UMC Facebook page for cancellations or updates.

¯50 percent off — 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Lewistown Shelter Thrift Store. Discount applies to clothes only.

¯Trunk or Treat — 5:30-7:30 p.m., Church Hill UMC, 199 Woodland Circle, Reedsville. Bring kids and cars for  fun and safe way to trick or treat. Refreshments will be offered and a chance to win some prizes.

¯Trick or treat night — 5:30-7:30 p.m., Reedsville UMC, 60 E. Logan St., Reedsville. All trick or treaters are welcome to come to the church education building for treats, hot dogs and drinks, as well as a chance to win prizes.

¯Burnham Lions safe-night trick or treat — 6-8 p.m., Burnham Lions Club.

¯Halloween treats — 7-8 p.m., Locust Grove Retirement Village and Rehab. For children ages 0-12.

¯Light the Night  –  6-8 p.m., Belleville Community Hall. Games, prizes, food, face painting and fun for all. Sponsored by Watts Memorial United Methodist Church and Rockville Fellowship.

Tuesday, Nov. 1
