Township discusses firearm ordinance

From staff reports

YEAGERTOWN – The Derry Township Board of Supervisors discussed a new shooting ordinance for the township during a Monday evening meeting.

John McCullough, chairman of the board, said once this ordinance is ready it will define the rights of residents in Derry Township who wish to shoot firearms either for hunting or practice. McCullough said most of the rules and regulations designate where and when firearms can be used. The regulations will follow those set forth by the Pennsylvania State Game Commission.

The next meeting of the Derry Township Board of Supervisors will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 2 at the township office.
