Mifflin County Commissioners set agenda

LEWISTOWN – During a brief workshop meeting on Thursday, the Mifflin County Commissioners announced the following agenda items for their Aug. 14 business meeting:

An agreement with Uni-Tee Consulting Engineers Inc., of State College, for professional engineering services for a sanitary sewer project in Juniata Terrace Borough in the amount of $26,000.

A state offender supervision fund grant-in-aid renewal agreement for the period July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015 in the amount of $338,611 for the purpose of adult probation wages.

An emergency management performance grant agreement with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency for the period Oct. 1, 2013 through Dec. 31, 2014 in the amount of $93,325 for the purpose of paying salaries for planning activities.

Rescinding action from July 24 approving Derry Township’s application for liquid fuels allocation in the amount of $17,857.49 due to a project being complete and pending necessary paperwork from the state.

A request for exoneration of a 2014 real estate tax bill for a parcel located in Decatur Township where a mobile home was removed. The county’s portion is $179.55.

A contract with Maximus of Harrisburg to prepare the county’s cost allocation plans for the years 2014, 2015 and 2016 at a cost of $7,200 for 2014 and $7,500 for 2014 and 2015.

An agreement with Tyler Technologies Inc., of Dallas, Texas, for yearly maintenance support and license for the county’s MUNIS accounting software for the period Aug. 2, 2014 through Aug. 1, 2015 at a cost of $16,706.50.

The appointment of Brett Rogers to the Mifflin County Library Board to fill an unexpired term which expires Dec. 31, 2015.

The promotion of Nikki Kitzmiller from caseworker II to caseworker III in the children & youth department, effective Aug. 8.
