Four injured in Tuesday car accident

GRANVILLE – Four children were injured as a result of an accident on Hawstone Road near Mystery Lane, Granville, Tuesday evening, according to a report from the Granville Township Police Department.

The report stated the accident occurred around 9 p.m., when a vehicle driven by Crystal Kohler, 27, hit a utility pole.

According to the report, the utility pole was sheared off at the bottom, causing live wires to hang low in the area.

The report stated that Kohler was driving from Lewistown when the vehicle traveled off the left side of Hawstone Road and hit the utility pole head-on. According to the report, Kohler had her four children in the car, and all were injured as a result of the accident. The report stated three of the children were transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for treatment and one was life-flighted to a trauma center. According to the report, Kohler was also transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for treatment of injuries.

The report stated that Kohler was believed to be impaired at the time and numerous charges are pending.

Police were assisted at the scene by Junction and Granville fire departments, Fame EMS, and Penelec.
