Police: 1 Tyrone man is arrested for deviate intercourse

WARRIORS MARK – One Tyrone man has been charged with 75 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, according to a release from Pennsylvania State Police Huntingdon.
Police said Tobias Benson, 41, sexually abused a child who is now about 30 years old through the years of 1993 and 1996 at an apartment located at the intersection of state Routes 350 and 550 in Warriors Township. According to a release, the victim alleged that Benson forced him to give and receive oral sex, as well as mutual manual stimulation of the genitals, while the victim was between the ages of nine and 12. Benson was between the ages of 20 and 24.
Police said Benson has been charged with 75 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 13 years old, a first degree felony; 75 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion, a first degree felony; and 75 counts of indecent assault of a person less that 13 years of age, a first degree misdemeanour.
According to the report, these charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Douglas Gummo, who issued an arrest warrant for Benson. Police said Benson was located, taken into custody and arraigned before Gummo who set bail at $500,000. A
According to the report, Benson was placed in the Huntingdon County Jail. Police said a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 8:45 a.m. Aug. 5 at the Huntingdon County Courthouse.
