Commissioners approve services

LEWISTOWN During a brief business meeting on Thursday, the Mifflin County Commissioners conducted the following business:

Approved the following purchase of service agreements for use, if needed, by Children & Youth with Enlighten Psychiatric Services of Lewistown; McCloskey Counseling Center of Milesburg; Triad Treatment Specialists of Lancaster; Neuropsychological Services at Clear Vision LLC of Williamsport; Clear Concepts Counseling of Lewistown; Vianey Siennick of Lewistown; Children’s Resource Center of Harrisburg; and Families United Network of Muncy.

Approved an agreement with Avanco International Inc. of McLean, Va., for the child accounting and profile system (CAPS) application service for the purpose of county-related business support for July 1, 2014, through June 30, 2015, in the amount of $22,506 per year.

Approved an agreement with Avanco International Inc of McClean, Va. for consulting services and support for the period July 1, 2014, through June 30, 2015, not to exceed $30,000.

Approved a supplemental request from the EADS Group of Somerset to provide additional construction consultation services on the Monument Square Phase 4 project due to the need for additional design work. The cost is not to exceed $4,000.

Approved a linkage letter agreement with Service Access Management of Lewistown for case management at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility for the period July 1, 2014, through June 30, 2015, at no cost to the county.

Approved a tentative agreement with Conservative Environmental Services Inc. of Mechanicsburg, for pick-up, transport and disposal of infectious and chemotherapeutic waste for the correctional facility at a cost of $55 per box. Warden Bernie Zook noted that Lewistown Hospital used to dispose of the waste but informed him in April it would no longer be providing the service.

Rescinded two exonerated per capita bills from Armagh Township Tax Collector Linda Marks that were exonerated May 22 when the tax collector incorrectly added two names that were paid.

Approved a request for real estate tax refund for a parcel in Granville Township where a building was double assessed. The county’s portion is $874.66.

Approved the 2014-15 Human Services Development Fund allocations as follows: Big Brothers/Big Sisters, $3,000; Lumina Center, $5,000; Shelter Services, $9,450; Abuse Network, $,3,458; county administration, $5,000; and service coordination, $24,092.

Hired Nicole Welmon as a county caseworker in the Children & Youth department, effective August 4.
