Snyder County granted funds
MIDDLEBURG – A request by the Snyder County Commissioners to the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts for funds to pay for new lighting at the Snyder County Courthouse has been granted.
The AOPC has agreed to pay up to $11,000 for new LED lights in the Courthouse parking lot. The lights were recently installed by SRS Electric of Selinsgrove.
The County Commissioners began two relighting projects earlier this year which replaced older lights at the county prison and county courthouse with lights that utilize newer technology. Commissioners included $250,000 in the 2014 budget for these two projects, but final costs totaled less than $27,000 after rebate programs from PPL. The work was performed by Lenape Solar of Sunbury.
The county expects to save an additional $20,000 each year in reduced energy costs as a result of the projects.
