Police to conduct sobriety checkpoint
MIFFLINTOWN – Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown has announced that a sobriety checkpoint will be conducted within Juniata County sometime during the month of July.
Police said drivers that encounter the checkpoint will be stopped briefly to determine if there is an indication that a driver has consumed alcohol, controlled substances, or committed any other violation of the law. According to the report, any occupants of any vehicle may be detained for further investigation.
Police said while the emphasis will be on DUI violations, all laws will be enforced.
