1 injured in collision

LEWISTOWN – One McClure man was injured Friday after his motorcycle collided with a car stopped at a traffic light along state Route 103 at its intersection with Belle Avenue in Lewistown, according to a report from the Granville Township Police Department.

Police said the crash occurred at 2:49 p.m., when 22-year-old Garrett T. Neff, of McClure was riding a 2005 Suzuki DR-Z400 motorcycle and failed to notice a stopped 1999 Buick Century, driven by Crystal M. Peachey.

According to reports at the scene Peachey was stopped at the light at the intersection of state Route 103 and Belle Avenue. Police said the motorcycle hit the rear and passenger’s side of the Buick. According to the report, Neff was wearing a helmet, but sustained injuries and was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for treatment.

A nursing supervisor at the hospital said Neff was no longer in the emergency room at GLH and that he was not admitted as a patient, but would not say if he was released or transported to another facility. Police said Peachey was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and did not suffer any injuries.

According to the report, Peachey will be cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license, and Neff will be cited for not having a valid motorcycle license.

Police were assisted on the scene by Granville and Junction fire companies, Fame EMS, and Granville Township Fire Police.
