Police: Man hurt after accidental gun discharge
GRANVILLE – Police said a Granville Township man was injured early Thursday morning after a gun discharged at a residence in the township.
According to a press release issued Friday, Granville Township Police said a 47-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to his hand around 12:43 a.m. Thursday at a residence along North River Road in Granville. Police did not release the man’s identity, but said the the injury was the result of a self-inflicted accidental discharge of the gun.
According to the report, no one else was present at the time of the incident. Police said the male was transported to Hershey Medical Center for treatment.
Granville Township Police were assisted at the scene by Lewistown Borough Police and Fame EMS.
