MCRPD Chief: Incidents are in line with past years

YEAGERTOWN – Mifflin County Regional Police Department Chief Scott Mauery gave a positive report during the MCRPD Board of Directors meeting Thursday evening.

Mauery told the board there were 398 incidents in April, which is up from the 362 incidents for April 2013.

However, Mauery said this number is still in line with the average number of incidents over the years. Mauery also said the number of incidents in Brown Township is higher than normal.

“The reason the incidents are up in Brown is most likely due to increased traffic because of the construction on (U.S.) 322,” he said.

Mauery also said several of the officers have gone through self-defense and active shooting training.

The MCRPD Board of Directors regularly meets at 5:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the MCRPD building in Yeagertown.
