Master Gardeners selling compost
LEWISTOWN – The Penn State Master Gardeners of the Juniata Valley are selling 40 pound bags of compost at their demonstration garden between 6 7 p.m. on Thursdays (weather permitting). The demonstration garden is located at 1 Library Drive, Lewistown (up the hill from the Mifflin County Library). For more information call Darryl at 717-436-7744.
The organzation reminds area resident its Master Gardener Hotline is again operational. Penn State Master Gardeners are taking questions Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. 12 until noon through September.
A Master Gardener will be manning the phones and answering any question on gardening, pests, lawns, and landscape. Walk-ins are also welcome to the Penn State Extension Office in Lewistown. Bring your plant and pest specimens in for identification and control recommendations. The call-in number is 717-248-9618. The office is located at 152 E. Market Street, Lewistown.
