Agenda set for May 8 meeting
LEWISTOWN – During a brief workshop meeting on Thursday, the Mifflin County Commissioners announced the following agenda items for their May 8 business meeting:
A price proposal from The EADS Group of Altoona for phase 1A of the proposed Juniata River Boat Launch Project up to $8,000 from the county’s Act 13 funds. Planning Director Bill Gomes said the money is needed for a study to determine environmental issues such as archaeology and wetlands impacts at the proposed site.
A proclamation celebrating the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Smith-Lever Act, the founding legislation of the nationwide Cooperative Extension System.
A proclamation designating May as Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month.
A proclamation noting May 4-10 as Corrections Employee Week.
The quarterly report from Chris Wysocki, administrator of the Juniata Valley Behavior and Developmental Services.
