Juniata Mennonite School vandalized

McALISTERVILLE – Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown are investigating a vandalism act that occurred sometime overnight Thursday into Friday at Juniata Mennonite School.

Teacher Terry Smith said staff arrived at the school just after 7 a.m. to see graffiti sprayed on the building both on the front and the back portions. Smith said no vandalism was discovered within the interior of the school, and

no one tried to break into

the building.

Staff members immediately covered the writing with garbage bags and tape to keep the material from being viewed by the students. The process of cleaning up the graffiti began shortly after the police visited the school to investigate.

Smith said the incident was explained to all students, reminding them “We need to pray for this individual or individuals who did this.”

When contacted by The Sentinel Friday night, police said the investigation was ongoing and no information was available as of press time.
