Police: Man tried to lure boy

LEWISTOWN – Lewistown Police are seeking the public’s help with an investigation into the attempted luring of a 5-year-old boy on Chestnut Street near Depot Street, Lewistown, on Saturday afternoon.

According to their report, Lewistown Police said a 5 -year-old boy was riding his scooter a short distance in front of two adults who were walking behind him and watching him on Chestnut Street. The boy stopped his scooter and was waiting for the adults to catch up to him when a male subject in a white vehicle pulled up near the boy and rolled down his window.

Police said the male subject put his hand outside the window of the vehicle and motioned for the boy to come over to him. The two adults observed the male subject talking to the boy and ran up to him, but the man in the vehicle sped away.

The subject was described as a white male with short hair between 45 to 50 years of age, and he was wearing prescription eyeglasses. Investigators were able to identify the vehicle involved as being a white Pontiac G6 four-door.
