Immunization clinic to be held in East Waterford
MIFFLINTOWN – The Pennsylvania Department of Health is set to hold a public immunization clinic from 9-11 a.m. March 28 at Long’s Community Store, 9697 State Route 75, East Waterford.
Juniata County Commissioner Jeffrey Zimmerman announced the clinic during a Tuesday meeting of the board of commissioners. He said area residents who are underinsured or uninsured are eligible for vaccines at low or no cost. There is a maximum cost of $5, payable by check or money order.
Zimmerman said the type of vaccines available at the clinic were not specified in a press release. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call the Department of Health at 527-4185.
Also during the meeting, the board:
Reviewed the Summary of Collections Report Fines and Costs, submitted by Jacqueline T. Leister, magisterial district judge. The board also reviewed the Juniata County Adult and Juvenile Probation report, prepared by Michelle A. Beaver, chief probation officer.
Approved tax exonerations for Beale Township, Mifflintown Borough and Monroe Township.
Ratified Juniata County hazardous materials check No. 1,184 in the amount of $76.72 payable to Wex Bank for fuel.
Approved the use of the County Records Improvement Fund to purchase one fax machine at a total cost of $199.99 for the recorder of deeds office, as submitted by Alicia Seigler, register and recorder. The board also approved the use of the fund to purchase one Dell Inspiron notebook computer at a total cost of $699.99 for the magisterial district judge’s office, submitted by Barbara M. Lyter, judge.
Approved checks Nos. 39,746 through 39,796 in the amount of $78,793.19, except for check No. 39,783. Commissioner Teresa O’Neal said the omitted check was an expense check payable to her and she abstained from the vote. Commissioner Robert Reynolds was absent from the meeting, and the board was unable to take action on the check at that time.
The board tabled approval on a floor maintenance proposal from Central PA Commercial Floor Cleaning, submitted by Richard Fisher, director of maintenance.
