Giant/Martin’s announces voluntary recall of salad mix
From staff reports
LEWISTOWN – Following a recall by Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc., Giant Food Stores LLC and Martin’s Food Markets removed from sale the Dole Italian Blend Salad Mix due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The following product is included in this recall:
Dole Italian Blend Salad Mix, 10 oz., UPC 7143000819 with a use by date of March 12, 2014.

Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy.
Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to the Giant or Martin’s store for a refund.
