Snow blankets Juniata Valley; more expected on Wednesday

LEWISTOWN – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a winter storm watch from this evening to Wednesday evening.

According to the weather service, the watch is in effect for Mifflin, Huntingdon and Juniata counties. The weather service predicts 1 to 4 inches of snow and one-tenth to one half-inch of ice. The wintry mix will begin late tonight and end Wednesday afternoon. The period of most intense snow or ice will be Wednesday morning.

The weather service said there will be dangerous travel conditions due to slick roads and reduced visibility.
