Lewistown Borough Council approves phone systems for Waste Water Treatment Plant

LEWISTOWN – The Lewistown Borough Council held a special meeting Monday evening to discuss the phone and electrical systems at the new Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Council authorized HRI Inc. to install the wires needed for the electrical and phone systems. The authorization was approved less the tax it will take to complete the project. A service agreement letter will be sent to Nittany Media Inc., for providing the internet and phone services. The services will be provided with a $200 per month subscription fee. Council also discussed the possibility of hiring Tyco Simplex Grinnell to provide a security system for the plant but, due to some questions in the proposed contract, the council decided to wait to make a decision until the March 10 meeting.

After a brief executive session, the council decided to make a verbal offer to the Mifflin County Regional Police Department on the repayment plan for the old pension plans. The offer will be sent through hard copy postmarked mail.
