Police: Man charged with DUI, resisting arrest

LEWISTOWN – The Lewistown Police department arrested a Granville Township resident for DUI on Jan. 10, according to a report from police.

Police said a disturbance occurred involving several people and a vehicle on West Fourth Street. According to the report, officers later located the vehicle driven by Brian Shreffler, 39, of Granville, on Pine Street. Police said they attempted to arrest Shreffler for driving under the influence. Shreffler resisted arrest and proceeded to threaten the arresting officers and at one point attempted to kick out the windows of the police vehicle, according to the report.

Police said Shreffler was processed and placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility. His bail was set at $100,000 according to online MCCF records.

Assisting in the investigation were Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown and Mifflin County Regional Police.
