NWS: 3 to 5 inches of snow predicted to fall on Juniata Valley today

LEWISTOWN – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a winter weather advisory for Mifflin, Juniata and Huntingdon counties.

The advisory will be in effect from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. today.

The weather service is predicting 3 to 5 inches of snow, with higher amounts falling to the south of U.S 22 and interstate 81.

According to the weather service, travel may be slowed significantly due to snow covered roads and periods of poor visibility.

The weather service is predicting winds north to northeast at 10 to 20 mph, and gusting up to 25 mph Tuesday afternoon and evening.
