NWS calls for 2 to 5 inches of snow in area Tuesday

LEWISTOWN – The National Weather Service in State College is calling for two to five inches of snow in the Juniata Valley on Tuesday.

The NWS has issued a winter weather advisory for 22 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties, including Mifflin, Juniata, Huntingdon, Snyder and Perry counties, which is in effect from 3 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The NWS said the snow will begin before sunrise and will taper off in the late morning or early afternoon. The snow will cause poor visibility and snow covered roads, the NWS said.

Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s with winds out of the west at 5 to 15 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph and visibilities as low as 1/4 mile, the NWS said.
