Derry Township holds last regular meeting of 2013
YEAGERTOWN – The following was discussed Monday at the last regularly-scheduled Derry Township Supervisors meeting of 2013:
Will appoint Kelly Shutes as manager during a reorganizational meeting on Jan. 6;
A workshop will be held in January to work through the county draft wind ordinance, to help adopt their own;
The U.S. Senate should be signing a bill this week to approve county use of the old Army Reserve Center Building. Once a bill is passed into law, county level changes can begin to the building;
The township is going to approach Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital to determine if the two-hour parking signs on Highland Avenue Extended are needed. If the signs are not needed, the supervisors say they will be removed;
Appointed Boyer & Ritter, CPAs to do the 2014 audit;
Reappointed Leonard D. Moist to Derry Township Sewer Authority, for a five-year term;
The Derry Township Supervisors regularly meet at 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month at the Derry Township office in Yeagertown. A special meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday to adopt the 2014 budget.
