Police: Car rear-ends horse and buggy
MILROY – Five people were injured after a car rear-ended a horse and buggy on Friday, according to the Armaugh Township Police.
Police said James Russler, 52, of Milroy, was driving west on Old 322 at approximately 7:34 p.m., when he did not see a horse and buggy on the roadway directly in front of him, traveling in the same direction.
According to the report, Russler’s vehicle rear-ended the horse and buggy causing all six passengers to be ejected from the buggy. Police said five of the passengers from the buggy, one female and four children, were transported to Lewistown Hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. Police say the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Police said they were assisted at the scene by the Milroy Fire Department, Reedsville Fire Department, Milroy EMS, Fame EMS and Milroy Fire Police.
