Council approves bid for sweeper
LEWISTOWN – The following items were agreed upon at the Lewistown Borough Council Meeting on Monday at the Lewistown Borough Building:
Council accepted a bid from A and H, in Harrisburg, to buy the borough’s street sweeper and to allow the council president and borough secretary to sign the papers to buy it, if the documents are received prior to the next council meeting
Resident Laura Hendricks, of Montgomery Avenue, presented council with a printout of how to properly trap and get rid of the feral cats; it was decided to hand the ordinance ruling to the Law and Order Committee
Tony Grose, borough superintendent, said the street scape project on Dorcas and Market Streets is finished
Approved an amendment for FAME EMS to use Rec Park for the set up of a fire apparatus on Thursday during the Halloween Parade
Decided to keep traffic pattern changes from South Main Street to West Charles Street and to allow vehicles to continue to turn left anywhere onto West Charles Street from West Hale Street after a 90-day trial period.
Approved the lot consolidation plan for Lake Ford-Lincoln-Mercury Inc.
Allowed Council Member Matt Moore to continue to work with Mifflin County High School to help it have a public access television station through Comcast.
The Lewistown Borough Council meets the second and fourth Monday of every month at 5:30 at the borough building.
