Burnham Borough Council considers parking lot transfer
BURNHAM – The Burnham Borough Council heard a request on Monday to change ownership for 60 feet of parking lot property between Burnham OIP and JP Edwards.
Dan Taptich, of Taptich Engineering & Surveying, was at the meeting on behalf of the Pannizzo family, the owners of JP Edwards. Taptich said the Pannizzos are going to transfer the 60 feet of parking lot ownership from JP’s to the OIP. The council voted to allow Taptich to proceed with acquiring the necessary signatures to transfer the ownership. Once that is accomplished, Council President Robert Soccio will make the final signature to complete the transfer.
The board also accepted the resignation of Council Member William Benny, effective immediately. Benny was not present for Monday’s meeting, but submitted his resignation in the form of a short letter presented to the council.
Borough Secretary Lisa Jyl Hayes informed the council that James Wentel, of Burnham, had expressed interest in temporarily filling the position in order to serve out the remainder of Benny’s unexpired term.
The council voted to appoint Wentel to fill the position until the November election is completed and the council begins a new term in January.
