3 charged in alleged robbery, assault

LEWISTOWN – Three suspects are now in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility after a robbery and aggravated assault, according to the Lewistown Police Department.

According to a report, police were dispatched to the area of Valley Street at 9:45 p.m. on Thursday to a report that juveniles were preparing to assault another male. Police said the assault had just taken place in an alley off of Valley Street and that two male juveniles, Devian Jimenez Rounds, 15, and Lane Andrew Benner, 16, both of Lewistown, and Trisha Renee Dippery, 18, of Lewistown, had just assaulted James Wolfe and Jamie Young. The names of the jueveniles were included in affidavits of probable cause released by police; the juveniles are being charged as adults.

Police said after an investigation it was determined that Dippery lured Wolfe into the alley after Wolfe showed her his wallet containing $500. According to the report, Dippery then told officers she went back to Rounds and Benner, where they formulated the plan to rob Wolfe. She told police that she and two others walked Wolfe back into the alley where Rounds and Benner were waiting and they jumped out of the dark. Police said Rounds had a pocket knife and Benner had a CO2 powered pellet gun, with a pointed laser mounted on top. According to the report, the pellet gun was pointed at Wolfe’s chest. Police said it was after this point that Wolfe ran away to get Young and then went back to the alley to confront Rounds and Benner. According to the report, Wolfe told police that Rounds wanted to fight him, but stabbed Young, causing a minor puncture wound.

Dippery, Rounds and Benner left the scene and were found to be hiding in the graveyard by the Sacred Heart Church on North Dorcas Street, according to police. Police said they found the knife and pellet gun which were used in the robbery. According to the report, Dippery, Rounds and Benner were charged in the incident and transported to Mifflin County Correctional Facility to await further court action. Dippery was charged with conspiracy, robbery and aggravated assault, with a bail set at $30,000, according to the report. Police said Rounds was charged with conspiracy, two counts of robbery and two counts of aggravated assault. Benner was charged with conspiracy, two counts of robbery and two counts of aggravated assault, with a bail set at $75,000.
