Juniata Valley Family to make debut Aug. 14

LEWISTOWN – A quarterly publication focusing on the youth and families of Mifflin and Juniata counties will debut Aug. 14 in the region. Juniata Valley Family will be distributed as a free publication at high-traffic points throughout the area.

Ogden Newspapers Inc., the parent company of The Sentinel, is launching the edition, and all content will be included online at www.lewistownsentinel.com in addition to the printed version.

“Juniata Valley Family will have local content, written both by Sentinel staff, as well as area experts,” said Publisher Ruth Eddy.

The debut edition will have a “Back-to-School” theme and will include local stories about youth athletic participation, owning a business from a parent’s point of view, homeschooling from a student’s perspective, student sleep schedules and more. Contributors to Juniata Valley Family will include Mifflin County School District Athletic Director Matt Shoemaker, Taz Fitness owner Terri Whitesel, MCHS guidance counselor Suzanne Firth, Dr. John Pagnotto and other local residents and professionals.

Local organizations or businesses that would like to be a distribution point for Juniata Valley Family may contact The Sentinel circulation department at 248-6741, ext. 140. Twitter and Facebook users can follow the publication by searching “Juniata Valley Family.”
