Police: Man tries to swim across river after crash
MIFFLINTOWN – A Mifflintown man was arrested April 26 after Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown said they found him swimming across the Juniata River after leaving the scene of a drunk driving crash.
Police said Damian Michael Decicco, 23, was traveling at 4:32 p.m. on William Penn Highway at the intersection of Cuba Mills Road when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole.
According to the report, the vehicle became disabled and Decicco fled the scene on foot. Police said when troopers arrived on scene and surrounded the area, Decicco was found trying to swim across the Juniata River.
Police said Decicco was found to be under the influence of alcohol and charges of driving under the influence and multiple traffic violations were filed through Magisterial District Judge Barbara M. Lyter’s office.
