Allen launches write-in campaign

MIFFLINTOWN – Clarence Allen is asking Walker Township citizens to write him in for Juniata County School Board Director in the May 21 primary.

Allen said he wants both Republicans and Democrats to write him in.

Allen was the chief of police for Mifflin Borough, Port Royal and Walker Township for 25 years.

He said he was a federal police officer for a Navy base and at Fort Indiantown Gap before retiring in 2008.

Allen went to school in Mount Union and attended the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in Hershey. He also received update training at Harrisburg Area Community College and radar and in-service training at the Navy base in Mechanicsburg, where he also attended training on repair and networking.

He said he also drove a school bus for more than 28 years.

Allen has been married to his wife Sherry A. (Jones) Allen, for 26 years. He has two grown children, Mandy and Corey, as well as two grandchildren.

Allen said he knows how important education is for the children of Juniata County and will work hard for the school district, if elected.
