Police: Woman drove with .320 BAC
REEDSVILLE – A Reedsville woman who was caught driving erratically last week by police in Burnham had a blood-alcohol content of .320 percent, Mifflin County Regional Police Department reports.
Police said at 10:25 p.m. on March 29, officers, who were on patrol in Burnham, saw a Chevrolet Trail Blazer make an illegal left turn from West Freedom Avenue onto North Logan Boulevard.
As officers attempted to close in on the vehicle, it accelerated rapidly toward Yeagertown, police said. Officers saw the vehicle cross the yellow center divide line before reaching its location and stopping, police said.
According to the report, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Toie Lewis, 46, of Reedsville. Further investigation revealed that Lewis was highly intoxicated and barely able to stand. Lewis was transported to Lewistown Hospital where a chemical test of her blood measured her blood-alcohol content as .320 percent, four times the legal limit, police said.
Lewis was lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility on the charge of public intoxication, police said.
Police said charges will be filed through the office of Magisterial District Judge Aaron Gingrich.
