Collectible crock to be available by September
LEWISTOWN – A new stoneware crock marking the 110th anniversary of The Sentinel will be available for purchase by September.
The new commemorative piece is similar to the crocks produced in 2003 for The Sentinel’s 100th anniversary, with different artwork. The 100th anniversary crock featured a rendering of The Sentinel’s former building on Dorcas Street in Lewistown, while the new crock bears a sketch of The Sentinel’s present building in Pleasant Acres.
“This is the 110th year that The Sentinel has been keeping an eye on the Juniata Valley,” Sentinel publisher Ruth Eddy said. “These crocks symbolize that commitment to news and the recording of history that the publication provides for the area.”
The cost of the crock is $28.95 plus 6 percent sales tax. The 100th anniversary crock is also available for pre-order at the same price. The two crocks are also available as a set for $49.95 plus tax.
Shipping is not available. Crocks must be picked up at The Sentinel office at 352 Sixth St., Pleasant Acres, Lewistown.
To pre-order: by mail, send payment or credit card information to The Sentinel, attn: Crock, 352 Sixth St., Lewistown PA, 17044; stop in or call the office at 248-6741.
