Woman is convicted on two felony charges
From staff reports
MIFFLINTOWN – On Tuesday, a Juniata County jury convicted Jennifer Foltz, of unlawful use of a computer and computer trespass, both third degree felonies.
Foltz was charged after it was determined shortly before the day she quit her job at Envision Eye Care, she removed a software program from her computer in November 2011.
Juniata County District Attorney Cory Snook said the exact date and time of removal could not be determined because that information could not be recovered.
The software was designed to block access to certain websites and to track all websites visited. As office manager, Foltz had the password that allowed her to delete it from the computer, Snook said.
The removal of the software caused the business to lose several years’ worth of data and internet tracking information. The data was specific to that computer terminal, Snook said.
Foltz is represented by Shawn Doward, a sentencing date has not yet been scheduled and she remains free on $5,000 unsecured bail.
