Police: Crash damages porch

THOMPSONTOWN – A driver lost control of his or her vehicle on Pinnacle Road in Walker Township and struck the front porch of a residence before it fled the scene at 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown reports.

Police said the suspect vehicle was traveling west on Pinnacle Road, when it failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway.

Police said the vehicle continued off of the roadway on the north side of the road, struck a small tree and skidded into the corner of the front porch of a residence belonging to Donald Lee Wirt, 61, of Thompsontown.

According to the report, there was considerable amount of damage to Wirt’s front porch and the suspect vehicle fled the scene traveling east on Pinnacle Road.

Police said from evidence collected at the scene, the vehicle was a Chevrolet, possibly an older style S-10 truck or Blazer with heavy front end damage. Police said blue or dark blue paint transfer was found on numerous pieces of the destroyed porch.
