Jim Witter bringing Manilow tribute to local stage on March 24
LEWISTOWN — Jim Witter will take the stage on March 24 for the next concert in the 2016-17 Mifflin-Juniata Community Concert Association season.
The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Mifflin County High School. The doors will open at 7 p.m.
Single tickets for this performance will be available at the door on the night of the performance for $25.
In “Jim Witter: I Write the Songs,” the musician and his band bring to the stage a tribute to one of the world’s greatest singer/songwriters, Barry Manilow. With the lyrics on a screen so audience members can hum or sing along, these songs, and the history behind them, have the power to make you smile as they come alive like you have never heard them before.
Witter has been performing since he was a child, and professionally for 30 years, as a country and Christian music artist.
The Mifflin-Juniata Community Concert Association has been presenting internationally acclaimed artists to the community for more than 50 years. The all-volunteer organization is committed to enriching the cultural life of the Juniata Valley through live performances.
The 2016-17 season continues with:
¯ April 8 –Equinox Little Big Band. This is a big band experience on a small stage. Eleven instrumental musicians, led by two charming Southern gentlemen, perform just the right mix of jazz, ballads, pop and traditional favorites. The audience will hear songs by Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr., Sammy Davis Jr., Roy Orbison, Elvis, Johnny Mercer, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash and many more.
¯ May 3 — Tenore. Who doesn’t love a trio of tenors? Founded by the same person who promoted the platinum-selling Canadian Tenors, these three charismatic, passionate, talented singers unleash glorious sounds that celebrate a wide range of music. As solo acts, each shines brightly; together, they are luminous as they bring to the audience beloved tunes that everyone knows and can enjoy.
During the concert season, if school is cancelled or there is an early dismissal due to weather conditions on concert day, the concert will not be held, but will be rescheduled.
