Antique and Vintage Finds opens its doors in Burnham
Bedlyon enjoys preserving the past one piece at a time
BURNHAM — What started as a hobby seven years ago, is now becoming a full-time business for Tabatha Bedlyon.
Over the years, Bedlyon said she has taught herself “everything and anything” she can about antiques and vintage items and is now ready to share her expertise and found treasures with the public.
Her shop, Antique and Vintage Finds, in Burnham, opened in May and filled with items from primitive furniture, crockery, old hand-forged tools, pictures, wooden barrels and nail kegs, vintage kitchen
utensils and more.
“I have a small, unique place,” Bedlyon said. “We have so much variety and a big array of products.”
As part of her customer service, she said she will help customers find an item they are searching for.
“They can come in and show me a picture and tell me a price range, I’ll find it for them and they don’t have to do the work,” Bedlyon said.
She said she attends local auctions and estate sales to find inventory for her shop and says her prices are excellent as compared to other shops in the area selling similar items.
Bedlyon is no stranger to the collectibles business as she has had a booth at a
local antique mall for a
couple of years.
“I love my antiques,” she said. “It’s not a job to me, it’s fun and I enjoy it. I’m helping to preserve the past one piece at a time.”
Her favorite part of owning the new shop is the conversations she holds with customers as they reminisce about the memories certain object conjure up.
“It brings me closer to my customers,” Bedlyon said.
The two-floor shop is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sundays by appointment only. Antique and Vintage Finds is located at 316 N. Logan Blvd., in Burnham.
