Employment law seminar to be held
LEWISTOWN –The Juniata Valley Employer Advisory Council will present an employment law review and legal updates seminar from 8 to 11:15 a.m. May 23 at the CareerLink Mifflin County.
Attorneys John Baker and Kelley E. Kaufman, both experienced in employment law, will be the featured speakers discussing recent developments in labor and employment law and
what employers should be paying attention to going forward.
Topics such as wage and hour issues, FMLA developments, regulatory environment and the changing world of employee relations will be addressed. In this scenario driven session, relevant issues for employers today will include social media and the evolving world of the FMLA and ADA accommodations.
The fee is $25 per person and can be paid at the door. Registration and a light breakfast begin at 8 a.m. with speakers to begin at 8:30 a.m.
Human resource personnel who attend can earn 2.5 hours of approved time by the HRCI.
Employers are encouraged to bring questions and comments to the seminar. A PowerPoint program will be provided to the attendees.
