Dr. Kocher joins Mount Nittany Group
STATE COLLEGE — Dr. Christopher Kocher has joined Mount Nittany Physician Group Cardiology, according to a press release.
“My philosophy of care is to simply treat every patient as if they were part of my own
family,” Kocher said in the release. “I try to put myself in their shoes and really appreciate any concerns that are unique to their situation.”
Kocher’s most recent position was director of cardiac electrophysiology and pacing for Confluence Health in Wenatchee, Washington.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from Rutgers University and his medical degree from Medical College of Wisconsin. Kocher completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and fellowships in cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology through Naval Medical Center San Diego and the University of Maryland, respectively. He is board certified in the fields of cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
Kocher also has a long history of military service, most recently serving as a commander in the United States Navy, stationed in San Diego. He has held academic appointments as a clinical instructor at Puget Sound Family Medicine Residency in Bremerton, Washington and a clinical associate professor at the University of Washington.
