McClure shop offers fine jewelry repair, restoration
MCCLURE — At S. Henry Jewelry Repair and Design, owner Stacey Henry can repair or restore any kind of fine jewelry. She can also help customers create that special one-of-a-kind piece.
Working as the bench jeweler at former Wilson’s Gifts and Jewelry for six years, Henry purchased the repair equipment and relocated the business to her McClure home.
As the only strictly fine jewelry repair shop in the area, Henry said she is dedicated to providing the same quality craftsmanship as before and welcomes new and former customers to her business.
Henry offers many services including, but not limited to, ring sizing, stone settings, designing custom pieces, restoring vintage jewelry and repairing damage, all done on site.
Henry works with several vendors, which she said allows her customer to pick different mountings or order anything new. She is able to work with any metals including platinum, all karats of gold and sterling silver.
Henry can also restore the finish on vintage rings, which she says is becoming a popular trend since rings have become so expensive.
“Rings are handed down from grandmother to granddaughter and they want it to look new for the wedding,” Henry said.
Henry said jewelry is very sentimental and special to her customers and she appreciates that they trust her to repair the items.
Leaving the jewelry repair business was not an option for Henry because she said she loves what she does and enjoys her customers.
“I didn’t want to say goodbye to my customers,” she said. “I get to know them and bond with them.”
Now she wants to create new bonds with more customers in her relaxed, friendly shop or on the road.
Henry said she offers personal courier service and is willing to meet with customers in town since her home is “out-of-the-way” and she will also drop the items off if needed.
Jewelry may also be dropped off at KC’s Gifts, Jewelry and Awards on Market Street, in Lewistown for Henry to repair. She said there is normally a one-week turnaround on repairs.
The shop is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at 1310 Summit Road, McClure or anytime by appointment.
