Giant takes crackers off shelves
CARLISLE – Giant Food Stores has removed Glutino Rosemary and Olive Oil Snack Crackers from its shelves after a recall by Boulder Brands due to a potential Salmonella contamination.
The recall includes 4.25-ounce packages of the crackers with a UPC of 67852303861 and a best by date of Oct. 26.
Customers who purchased this product should discard unused portions and bring their receipt to Giant for a refund.
Giant has received no reports of illness to date. Eating food contaminated with Salmonella can cause salmonellosis, which can be life-threatening, especially to those with weak immune systems. The most common symptoms of salmonellosis are diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever within eight to 72 hours. Symptoms may include chills, headache, nausea and vomiting as well.
