Reisinger to open new medical practice in Juniata County
RICHFIELD – No one in Richfield will have to ask “Is there a doctor in the house?”
Reisinger Family Practice, 14229 Route 35, is located in a remodeled house across from the County Line Restaurant.
There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony Aug. 7. A “soft opening” will occur the week of July 22 for patients in need of care before the official opening. The office will accept only cash payments during those early dates. Patients can call 694-9909 for appointments.
Dr. Gene Reisinger had been a physician with the Family Practice Center in Mount Pleasant Mills from 1986 to 2007. He recently recovered from a head trauma and is now able to start his own private practice.
The doctor said he enjoys the Richfield area and is looking forward to seeing patients. Three other individuals work at the office as nurses and office staff. Numerous phone calls have come in to the office already asking for appointments, the doctor said.
“There is a definite interest,” he said since the sign in the front lawn announcing the office opening first appeared two months ago.
The practice has been in the works since September 2012 when Reisinger and wife Susan began looking for the right office. Some business advisors mentioned the home for sale in Richfield and its direct access to Route 35.
Reisinger also said he will offer “the same care as I had at the Family Practice in Mount Pleasant Mills,” adding he will also offer
“an element of spirituality
The doctor said he will not force his faith onto anyone, but will openly share his Christian views with those willing to listen.
Susan also said, “We want people to feel this is a comfortable place where they can gain from the whole experience – mentally, physically and spiritually.”
Most insurance will be accepted as well as various forms of medical assistance and Medicare. Hours are tentatively set depending upon what the demand may be after the official opening: Monday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 8 to 5 and Wednesday and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Thursdays may also have evening hours if needed.
