Glick’s collects shoes for charity

LEWISTOWN – Glick’s Shoe Store has joined the Soles4Souls campaign, as part of the store’s 2013 giving program, to help individuals in need around the world.

People can drop off gently worn shoes at Glick’s Shoe Fly in Monument Square in Lewistown. The shoes are then donated internationally to people in need through the Soles4Souls organization.

“Bringing relief to people in need fits perfectly with our company’s mission to save feet…,” store owner Matt Moon said. “We are delighted that we can help people around the world experience a higher quality of life through this campaign.”

Soles4Souls was formed as a relief effort following the 2004 Southeast Asian tsunami, and has donated more than 19 million pairs of shoes across 128 countries since. The organization partners with companies in the footwear and fashion industry to collect shoes for people suffering from natural disasters or living in poverty.

“We deeply appreciate this commitment by Glick’s Shoe Store and its customers,” said Keith Woodley, chief development officer for Soles4Souls.
